The Noah Desjardins Memorial Foundation
Sports was a huge part of Noah's family; Noah and Carrigan (his sister) took karate together, they both played soccer, and learned how to swim. He played hockey with his best friends, Andrew and Jeff. Anything we wanted to do to stay active and get involved in our community, he did.
Eventually, Noah loved swimming so much he decided to become an underwater welder, bringing his love for the sea to fruition. I think if his parents hadn't brought them to so many beaches, built a pool to cool off in the hot Ontario summers, or encouraged swimming lessons, Noah may never have fallen in love with the water so much.
The passing of Noah has impacted our community greatly. We never expected this moment in our lives, and until you walk through it you don't understand how much it affects you and those you love. Since Noah's passing, we've thought a lot about how we want to give back to a community of people that has given our community so much.
The Noah Desjardins Memorial Fund will sponsor a kid to play sports each year. Hopefully giving them this opportunity will have just as much of an impact as it did on Noah.
